Third Challenge Ride a Merry Go Round on my birthday! March 21st, 2016

This has some how become a crazy tradition for me because when my mom was dying last year I tried to remember things that she loved to do and things that would make her smile. So last year on my birthday we loaded her up in one of the care givers vans and took her to the local mall to go for a ride on the merry go round!

You can't help but smile when you think of Merry Go Rounds, you climb onto a magical horse, panda, cat, or crazy animal and hear the organ grinder music in the background as you feel the gentle breeze on your face from the motion of the carousel going round and round. If you close your eyes for a moment you can almost be transported back to a simpler time when things were much easier and the joy of a short ride was all you needed to be happy.



                                     


I have included some photos from last years Merry Go Round ride with my mom and this years ride with my son. I have been looking forward to this little outing for awhile because it reminds me of a great time and memory I had with my mom. I hope to do this every year until I am not able. My wish is to always be transported on a few rides on a carousel to the happy days in my life. It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day and not make your birthday or the day special but everyday is what you make of it...it's a gift! so unwrap your gift and make today special!
