One less key on my key chain - Your Key Ring of Responsibilites

Do you remember when you got your first house key? I was a latch key kid letting myself in the house while my parents worked or my mom ran errands.

That was responsibility. 10 years old and I had to let myself into the house, not lose the key, and what ever you do don't forget your key or you will never hear the end of the lectures of not being more responsible.

Awhile ago...
I remember hearing a motivational speaker or reading some where that the more keys you have on your key chain the more responsible a person you are in life...

I think I felt more of a relief giving away one of my keys, the one for my Mom's house. Now I am only complicated by 3 keys. One for home, one for the office, and one for my car plus a Saint Christopher medal and a Statue of Liberty medal. There are people out there that have a whole key ring full of keys lots of responsibility. I am not saying that I am not a responsible person I just don't want the extra weight or burden associated with all those extra keys.

Do you ever think of all the keys on your key ring and wonder how much your life would change without that one key? For example the responsibility of taking care of my mom and then her house were burdensome at times, but I would never trade the time I got to spend with my mom. It was a true gift to spend time with her but the house that is another story. Without a car key I would have to rely on public transportation or my feet, without a house key I would be homeless, and without my office key I would be without a job. I don't want to give any of the keys "responsibilities" off my key ring. Keep it simple silly. 3 keys that's all I need.

How simple is your life? Look at your key ring the more keys the more responsibility.
