Dear Editor:

It’s summer time so there are always things to complain about these days especially the streets, roads and sidewalks. I would like to send out a “kudos” to the street department of Cuyahoga Falls, and Charles Novak Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation. I have had the pleasure to be the race director for the Irish 5K that is part of the Riverfront Irish Fest in downtown Cuyahoga Falls, Falls River Square for over the past 7 years and every year Mr. Novak’s street department makes sure that all the pot holes and streets are safe for the runners along the race route. They even sweep the street the night before the race to make sure that there won’t be any rocks or debris on the road way. The Saturday of the race everything went smoothly because of the extra time and effort by our cities street department.

The street department is currently juggling many projects within the city and I have been inconvenienced like many of the citizens of the community; however within a very short time we will have nice safe paved streets. The Report a Pot Hole Webline and Pot Hole Hot Line are great additions to alleviate some of the roadway frustrations for area drivers. The changes in our community are all positive that will have more positive changes with the increase of jobs and home owner incentives. Cuyahoga Falls is a great place to live. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will the streets of Cuyahoga Falls, but they are making progress! Thank you Cuyahoga Falls city service departments.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Davey-Vivalo
