Creativeness is flowing for ideas with PLARN

A friend of mine the other day told me about their dilemma with plastic grocery bags ripping apart with all their groceries ending up on the ground. Under normal conditions that is a pain but in these subzero weather conditions it is down right painful.

So my task do something with all my used plastic grocery bags that maybe able to help my friend and use some of my creative side to solve a problem.

On my first Google search I found a bunch of ideas of things to do with grocery bags:

Make a jump rope - http://childhoodlist.blogspot.com/2012/03/105-diy-plastic-bag-jump-rope.html

I have also come to find out that this type of crochet or craft uses something called "Plarn" (Plastic bag yarn)

You can make back packs, rugs, shoes, dresses, Easter baskets, the creations go on and on and on....

What I am most interested in is making a sturdy bag that will reuse the grocery bags and be used as a grocery bag.

Here is what I found:

This site has many different types of bags and accessories made of bags:

I really like the website that Recycle Cindy made and plan on visiting her site again soon for more ideas. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/

One last thing I found that I may want to try is how a woman made sleeping mats for the homeless. http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/story/26694038/2014/10/03/arizona-woman-turns-plastic-shopping-bags-into-sleeping-mats-for-the-homeless
